Who is the salt network?

The Salt Company is more than a college ministry. It’s a movement committed to reaching students with the gospel and helping plant churches in university cities across North America.

Every church in The Salt Network has a local college ministry called The Salt Company, intentionally built to reach students during one of the most formative seasons of their lives. Through weekly gatherings, student-led small groups, discipleship, and mission opportunities, students are equipped to follow Jesus and live on mission where they are.

At the heart of The Salt Network is a long-term vision: to see thriving churches and college ministries established in all 400 major university centers across North America. Rather than treating college ministry and church planting as separate efforts, The Salt Network plants churches with campus ministry built into their DNA from the very beginning.

What began as a vision has continued to grow across the country. Today, The Salt Network includes 40 churches across 28 states, with more church plants already in development, collectively reaching more than 17,000 college students each year.

Travel: If you choose to fly, we suggest traveling through Des Moines (DSM) Airport. It is then a 45-minute drive to Ames.

Church planting track

  • For those moving toward planting, this track is focused on how to plant effectively and multiply from the start. Learn directly from top leaders within the Salt Company and Send Network who are actively planting and scaling healthy churches.

    You’ll gain practical insight on building teams, developing systems, and creating a culture of evangelism and discipleship that leads to long-term multiplication.

College Ministry track

  • For established college ministry teams, this track is designed to sharpen how you reach and disciple students more effectively. Learn from Salt Company leaders who are seeing strong gospel movement on college campuses.

    You’ll walk away with practical strategies to engage students, develop leaders, and build a ministry that consistently multiplies on your campus and beyond.

Frequently asked questions

  • Multiplier events are invitation-only. We identify and invite Sending and Multiplying Churches progressing on the Send Network Mobilization Pathway. If you're interested, fill out the form below and we'll be in touch.

  • We typically run two multiplier events a year. One in the fall and one in the spring.

  • All meals on-site at will be provided by Send Network through an external grant. This includes breakfast snacks, coffee, drinks, and other snacks throughout the day.

    Send Network through the grant will cover flights, housing, and rental car expenses for this event up to $4,000. All accommodates are to be booked by the church and will be reimbursed after the event.
